New street lights have been installed on Peel Street, thanks to ward councillor David Wilkinson.
Your Liberal Democrat team wrote to Peel Street residents last year to find out if they wanted new lighting. There was overwhelming support for such a move from the residents who replied.
Westhoughton South ward Liberal Democrat councillor David Wilkinson put forward a street lighting scheme for Peel Street and a number of other areas. The scheme was successful and new lighting columns were installed.
David said: “The new street lights will improve illumination of the street in the evenings, hopefully making residents feel somewhat safer after dark.”
