Councillors have expressed their disappointment at delays to finishing the construction of a new zebra crossing at The Hoskers.

The new crossing facility had been due to open before the start of the new school term at St George’s primary school.

The crossing is designed to make it easier for parents and children of the school to cross safely.

The delays have been caused by issues with electrical connections for the beacons, Bolton Council has said.

Councillor Alison Jackson, who represents The Hoskers and Hart Common ward, said: “It is really disappointing that this delay has occurred. The council has a considerable amount of time to plan and get things opened for the new school term. We were promised that it would be done in time when we previously challenged the council on their timescales.”
