Pothole watch: 6 weeks delay to repairs

Westhoughton councillor Neil Maher is trying to get our roads fixed

The council have admitted that they now have such a big backlog of road repairs that there is a delay of 6 weeks to getting potholes fixed.

Liberal Democrat councillors in Westhoughton are working hard to get the town’s worst potholes filled. They are a nuisance for motorists and a danger to cyclists.

Labour-run Bolton Council has neglected the roads for so long that the backlog is getting even bigger.

Neil Maher, Westhoughton South councillor, said: “Bolton Council has kept this delay hush-hush, which is frustrating residents who are sick of waiting for their roads to be fixed.”

If you’d like to report a pothole on your street, you can file a report on the Bolton Council website.
